TOP WORKING KODI Video Add-ons February 2016

The poll results for top Kodi add-ons in January have Genesis as the clear winner.



The latest rumor/news on Genesis is that it will not be updated as the code ages. Somethings in Genesis have already started failing such as “Latest Episodes” which almost never updates anymore.

There are plenty of other add-ons available and here is a list of top Kodi add-ons for February 2016.

Genesis 

Genesis plays old and new movies along with old and new TV shows. It has a nice user interface with show descriptions and covers.
 
The code hasn’t been updated in a while and it is currently unknown if the author Lambda will be updating it or not. It is still a good add-on.

1Channel 

1Channel has been around awhile and is still going strong. It is a good companion to Genesis and both can play the same content.
 
1Channel has a straight to the point interface with less show or movie information. It is still one of the best add-ons to have.

IceFilms 

Icefilms streams both TV shows and movies. It has all the latest TV shows and movies available along with all the old classics. It is basically Netflix on steroids and all for free. The plug-in once installed automatically updates. For U.K. users workarounds have to be found or another add-on since it is been blocked from being used there. If you live in the United States than then this is a must-have add-on.
 
Be sure to use fusion repository others such as SuperRepo have not been updating it correctly.

SportsDevil 

SportsDevil as its name suggest is mainly for sports but also has a wide variety of other channels.
 
Its best feature is many of the streams play live streams from the Cartoon Network to Fox News.
 
The live streams are a bit of a hit or miss if they work depending on how many others are trying to stream at the same time.

Navi-X 

Navi-X is the oldest working add-on when it comes to Kodi. It was around when Kodi was still on the Xbox and called XBMC.
 
It is basically a barrage of channels by individuals sharing their favorite content.
 
If you can think of it, likely it can be found with-in Navi-X

Project Free TV 

Project Free TV is good for TV shows. Like other add-ons after a TV show has been aired it is usually updates to Project Free TV quickly and reliably. Although it does have a movie section the selection is limited but as far as watching your favorite TV shows this is a good add-on to have.

SALTS 

SALTS (Stream All The Sources) is a interesting add-on as it is trying to solve the problem of unreliable sources.

It has an option for using paid services called Real Debrid Accounts that are supposed to help stream better video sources.

There is a free option in SALTS so the paid services are not required and the one that I am currently using.

My first impression is that it is a OK video add-on. The interface is a little confusing at first. If you have run SALTS let us know in the comments.

XMovies8 

XMovies8 plays movies with one click.
 
No streams/source list is displayed it simply plays a video after clicking on it.
 
Only been using it a short while but it keeps working very well.

Syfy Channel add-on 

This Syfy Channel add-on only plays shows from the Syfy Channel but does it very well.
 
The video streams work great and give 1080p video. If you like the Syfy channel TV shows than check this add-on out.
 
It is located in the default Kodi repository.
 
 
Phoenix 

Phoenix is mainly used for live streams but has a lot of of other content including TV shows and movies.
 
The streams available have everything from sports to cartoons.

HD-Movie14 

HD-Movie14 is a nice add-on with a simple user interface.
 
There is no stream list it simply plays a TV Show/Movie once it is clicked. After using it for a short time there has been no buffering or bad links.
 
The streams are all from hdmovie14.net site, so as long as their servers dont become overwhelmed it should keep giving good links and streams.

Overview 
Kodi add-ons can be finicky at times or stop working altogether. Sometimes add-ons that once were the best can stop working and another have to be found.
 
There are many reason why this can happen from the original programmer of the code stops updating it, to other more drastic changes such as Kodi being blocked altogether from a server list.
 
Whatever the reason a add-on stops working here I am going to make a list and keep it up-to-date for the top Kodi add-ons.
